The club is delighted to convey huge congratulations to June Ann Byrne who won the Ladies O85 Doubles at the ITF Super Senior World Individual Championships in Umag, Croatia last week.  June Ann and her partner Wil Sevenstern of the Netherlands claimed victories over the No.1 seeds in the Semi’s and No. 2 seeds in the Final, both in three sets.

June Ann was also very impressive in the Singles event where she reached the quarter final stage knocking out the 8th seed along the way.

June Ann is an inspiration to tennis players of all ages. This year the club presented her with an award for Over 50 Years of Outstanding Contribution to Tennis in the club.  Possibly an understatement.

We are currently considering how best to mark this fantastic achievement by June Ann and will have details in our next bulletin.
